The Certificate of Substantial Completion was approved for execution for the Parish Generator Project with a final cost of $1.4 million. This project was initiated in 2013 with a Hurricane Gustav-Ike Office of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Designed by G.E.C. and constructed by Wharton Smith, LLC, the project consisted of installation of seven permanent generators above flood elevations and two automatic transfer switches for backup power to critical infrastructure.
Generators were installed at the LaPlace Park and Belle Grove Pumping Stations, Percy Hebert Lift Station and Wastewater plants inGaryville and on the West Bank at Central Avenue, Tigerville and in Wallace. Automatic transfer switches were installed at the Persimmon Street and Crevasse Pumping Stations
