Peavine Boat Launch Parking Restrictions
Beginning Monday July 13, 2015, the parking lot at the Peavine Boat Launch in LaPlace will be closed for three weeks due to asphalt work in relation to the Parks & Recreation Improvements project.
The Boat Launch will remain open for use during construction, however boaters are asked to park parallel on the roadway away from the construction area.
Water Aerobics - Classes held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Alex Roland Reese Pool, 194 Regala Park Rd, Reserve - 25 spots available, arrive early to secure a spot.
Adult Softball - registration ongoing for the adult co-ed softball program. Contact Parks and Recreation Department for more info.
- Open Gym - Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Regala Gym - Competitive play with various teams.
- Zumba - Tuesdays & Thursdays - 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Regala Gym. See photos.
About Parks and Recreation
The mission of St. John the Baptist Parish Parks and Recreation Department is to ensure the highest quality of recreational activities to the citizens of the Parish. Primarily but not exclusive to this mission is to ensure the quality, safety and beauty of the recreational environments.
Servicing both east and west banks, the St. John Parish Parks and Recreational Department maintains ten (10) public parks, one (1) playground, and two (2) pools. Over the years, this department has provided sports programs including Biddy Basketball and Youth Baseball. The programs have yielded six (6) Biddy Basketball National Championships and four (4) Baseball World Series Championships.
All parks may be rented for a fee. Please fill out the Park Permit Application and send it in to the Parks and Recreation Department for approval and availability. For more information, please call 985-652-9569.
