Public Invited to Review Master Plan for Parks and Recreation

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – The St. John the Baptist Parish Parks and Recreation Department will present a draft of the Master Plan for Parks and Recreation at two public meetings.  The first meeting is Monday, February 4 at REGALA Gym and the second meeting is Wednesday, February 6 at the West Bank Community Center.  Both meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and the public is invited to review the preliminary plans and provide feedack before the final plans are completed.  The updated master plan will provide a comprehensive list of potential new facilities and improvements to existing faclities.   

The public meeting at REGALA will address primarily East Bank facilities and the meeting at the West Bank Community Center focus on West Bank facilities.  Residents are encouraged to participate in the planning process as their efforts will help determine future investments in recreational and quality of life projects.

  • Cambridge Park
  • Emily C. Watkins Park
  • Ezekiel Jackson Park
  • Greenwood Park
  • Highway 51 Park
  • Peavine Boat Launch
  • Regala Park
  • Reserve Boat Launch
  • Stephanie Wilking Park

Facilities on the West Bank include:

  • Harold Scott Roussell Park
  • Wallace Bridge Park
  • West Bank Recreational Complex
  • Moll Canal Boat Launch (in design)
