St. John Remains under Flash Flood Watch Until 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, January 10, 2013 – 5:15 p.m.

Although St. John has been removed from the Flash Flood Warning and the Tornado Watch, the National Weather Service continues to keep St. John under a Flash Flood Watch until 6:00 p.m. tonight.  Most of the severe weather has moved out of the area; however, scattered showers may continue to move through the area.

All roads are now open; however, residents and motorists are asked to use caution when driving in flooded areas until the water subsides.  All pumps are continuing to operate at maximum capacity to remove water out of the streets.  If any issues arise overnight, residents should call 9-1-1 to make a report.

Please stay tuned to local weather stations for weather updates for the remainder of the week as rain chances remain for the end of the week and into the weekend.

Please also sign up to receive emergency notifications to your home phone, cell phone, email or SMS text messaging device. Residents may sign up for the service by visiting the homepage of the Parish’s website at www.sjbparish.com and clicking on the FirstCall-Interactive Network link.
