Conservation Measures Remain in Place for Reserve Residents

Conservation Measures Remain in Place for Reserve Residents

Thursday, January 10, 2013 – 2:00 p.m.

Residents in the Reserve area are being asked to continue to conserve water by limiting the amount of discharge placed into the wastewater system.  Weather conditions delayed repairs to the wastewater line; however, as soon as conditions allow, Utilities personnel and Boh Bros. Construction will resume work on the line.  Progress has been made on the line; however, repairs are still needed to complete the work.

Once repairs are complete, residents will be notified of the conservation measures being lifted via FirstCall.

Activities such as washing clothes, running dishwashers, flushing toilets, and all other activities that discharge into the collection system should be limited until further notice. Taking showers and baths are not included in the conservation measures.  Repair work will continue through tomorrow, Friday, January 11, 2013.

The St. John Parish water system is not impacted as a result of the leak in the wastewater line, and water is safe for consumption.
