ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH –Although thunderstorms are expected to diminish by the morning, St. John the Baptist Parish is currently experiencing scattered rain showers as a low pressure system moves through the area today and this evening. Patchy fog may develop into the evening as a result of weather conditions but hazardous weather otherwise is not anticipated. Thunderstorms are expected to resurface Sunday night as a strong cold front pushes into our area.
Public Works and Utilities crews are monitoring drainage, water, and wastewater systems. Parish Administrators are requesting assistance from residents in cleaning out catch basins and storm drains to assist with drainage due to rainfall. Residents are also asked to avoid putting debris in ditches and drainage canals that may impede drainage. Motorists should use caution on wet roadways and in dense fog.
