ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – Walgreens in LaPlace will host a free “Halloween Fun” community event on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cambridge Park at 601 Colony Park Drive in Cambridge Subdivision in LaPlace. Jambalaya, hot dogs and drinks will be provided along with candy bags for kids. The event will include a spacewalk, fire trucks and police finger printing. Free flu shots will also be offered.

The purpose of the event is to encourage residents to live a happy and healthy life. Residents are reminded to bring a lawn chair and/or blanket and mosquito spray to enjoy the evening at the park. “I would like to extend my appreciation to Walgreens and Ms. Pamela Bates for their efforts in healing our community. Many of our residents have suffered greatly as a result of Hurricane Isaac, and community activities like this one can and will help with the healing process," said Councilman District 6, Larry Snyder.
