St. John Parish Hosts Public Meeting to Discuss Insurance Concerns

 Residents and businesses are encouraged to attend.

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – St. John Parish residents and businesses are invited to attend the Louisiana House and Senate Insurance Committee meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the St. John the Baptist Parish Community Center.  The meeting was convened with the help of Senator Gary Smith to discuss insurance issues faced by St. John residents as a result of Hurricane Isaac. Residents and businesses should come prepared with insurances concerns or problems they have encountered while trying to recover and rebuild.

The Senate Chairman, Senator Dan Morrish, the Vice Chairman, Senator Gary Smith, the House Chairman Representative Greg Cromer, the House Vice Chairman Ledricka Thierry, as well as other Senate and House staff members and local officials will be in attendance. Insurance companies are also invited to attend the meeting to help assist individuals and answer questions. “Senator Gary Smith was instrumental in scheduling this Joint Insurance Committee Meeting in response to concerns expressed by residents following Hurricane Isaac.  We also anticipate representation at the meeting from the Insurance Commissioner’s Office and FEMA to respond to questions,” said President Robottom.
