FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in St. John Parish to Close on Sundays

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center located at New Wine Fellowship Church, 1929 W Airline Hwy in LaPlace, will be closed on Sundays, starting Sept. 23, 2012. The recovery center will remain open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FEMA recovery centers provide personal assistance and disaster relief information to homeowners, renters and business owners who have had damage to their home or personal property as a result of Hurricane Isaac. Some of the services that DRC provides:

  • Guidance regarding disaster recovery

  • Clarification of any written correspondence received

  • Housing assistance and rental resource information

  • Answers to questions, resolution to problems and referrals to agencies that may provide further assistance

  • Status of applications being processed by FEMA

  • Small Business Association program information

  • Insurance information

 Residents who have not yet done so, may register for FEMA assistance online at www.disasterassistance.govor call 1-800-621-3362 or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
