Donation Centers in St. John the Baptist Parish

Throughout St. John the Baptist Parish, many organizations are coming together to give back to those who have lost their homes and have no means to get meet their basic needs such water, food, pantry items, cleaning supplies and other supplies.

St. John the Baptist Parish has opened a donation site at the old Rainbow Chevrolet parking lot, located on Airline Hwy in LaPlace and open between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. as needed. All donations will be delivered to churches for distribution to families in need.

Today Ascension of Our Lord distributed 3500 lunches and cleaning supplies. Choice International provided pantry boxes and ice. St. Joan of Arc Church began distributing approximately 600-700 hot meals tonight.

On Monday, September 3, 2012, Proctor & Gamble will be set up in the Home Depot parking lot located at 300 West Airline Hwy, LaPlace, LA 70068 to provide residents a place to shower and use the restroom. Duracell batteries are also available and the “TIDE” truck will be on site at 9:00 a.m. as a mobile washateria. Residents are welcome to visit the site to wash and dry clothes.

Celebration Church will offer MRE’s, water, pantry items, clothes, diapers, and cleaning supplies on Hwy 51 beginning tomorrow until supplies last.
