ST JOHN EMERGENCY PUBLIC INFORMATION

St. John Continues Rescue Efforts


As day breaks St. John the Baptist Parish will continue searching for residents who are in need of rescue. If anyone has any information on where loved ones may be located, St. John the Baptist Parish and the National Guard are requesting any information.
When day breaks, rescue vehicles, boats, and helicopters will be monitoring the area for ANYONE in need of rescue.

Water is continuing to rise in LaPlace. Residents have been rescued in River Forest, Palmetto, Palmetto Lakes, Palmetto South, Cambridge, Riverlands Subdivision, Live Oak Landing, River Oak Landing, Old 51, Carmel Valley, Canterbury’s, Summerlin Estates, AOL school area, Country Club, and LaPlace Park. If anyone has communication with anyone located in these areas, please let them ensure boats, helicopters, and high water vehicles are searching for them and they are asked to make an appearance in some water for emergency responders to spot them now that day break is here.

If anyone can provide ANY information regarding addresses, location, identities would be helpful to rescue residents in St. John the Baptist Parish. Information can be called into 985-652-2222.

WEATHER: St. John remains under a TROPICAL STORM WARNING with winds of 25-35 mph. Tides will remain at elevated levels of 5 to 8 feet before receding slowly today.
St. John Parish evacuees are in state shelters and residents are being rescued at this time.
POWER: 95% of St. John Parish remains without power.
SEARCH AND RESCUE: State Police, National Guard, Wildlife and Fisheries, and St. John Sheriff and Fire personnel are performing search and rescue operations and will continue through the day.
