St. John Parish President Natalie Robottom joined her administration and members of the community for a ceremonial groundbreaking of the $2.2 million dollar gymnasium at Regala Park in Reserve. The event took place on June 28, 2010 at the new site on Regala Road. This event was open to the public.
The 300 seat gymnasium is being developed by Block Construction and will house recreation department offices, a conference room, and a concession stand to accommodate both indoor and outdoor events. Funding for this project was made available as part of the 2009 bond issue. This project is designed to promote healthy lifestyles, increase fitness activities, and provide a safe place for children to engage in community activities.
“This much needed addition to the facilities at Regala will greatly enhance the park and provide increased amenities to area residents. These facilities will provide a location for organized sports, family activities and for our Department of Recreation staff to be housed onsite,” said Parish President Robottom.
