Rainbow Chevrolet of LaPlace celebrated the dealership's re-grand opening following completion of a $1.2 million renovation project. In addition to General Manager Bill Paternostro, Controller Alvin Perret, and a host of Rainbow employees, President Natalie Robottom and her Administrative staff, Councilman Lucien Gauff, Assessor Whiteny Joseph and Sheriff-Elect Michael Tregre, joined representatives of the River Region Chamber of Commerce for the ribbon cutting ceremony last week.
“The new dealership has eye appeal and is inviting to customers shopping for a new vehicle. It is a great addition to Airline Highway and the region,” said Parish President Natalie Robottom. The renovation consisted of gutting the sales building and remodeling the entire space with fire retardant sheetrock and building code upgrades. “Chevrolet dealerships now have a similar appearance with similar color palates and designs,” said Kent Lomax, Rainbow Chevrolet Fleet Manager.
Rainbow Chevrolet of LaPlace is owned by local resident, Lloyd Guillot and it employs 48 people in sales, service and collision repairs. The sales center offers new and pre-owned vehicles with the Chevy Silverado being its top seller in the area. “The Malibu and Camaro are probably next in line,” said Lomax. The service center and collision repair center offers services for almost all vehicles. “It is a great facelift to the area and the investment shows Rainbow Chevrolet's commitment to their future here in St. John”, said Lucien Gauff, Councilman-at-large, Division A.
