LaPlace Residents Asked to Conserve Water

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

The St. John the Baptist Parish Utilities Department is making repairs to the 24 inch water line coming from the Ruddock well system this afternoon.

During this time, it is important that all residents in LaPlace conserve water and refrain from non-essential use until further notice. “We do not foresee problems; however, we need residents to conserve water, not store it, while we make repairs,” said Utilities Director, Virgil Rayneri. Residents are asked to please refrain from washing clothes, running dishwashers, watering lawns, washing vehicles, filling pools, and all other activities that require using large quantities of water.

“The St. John the Baptist Parish Utilities Department is currently working to repair the line as quickly as possible with hopes to complete the repairs within 8 hours,” stated Utilities Director Virgil Rayneri.
