Locally Owned 3LJ’s Café Opens in LaPlace

Parish President Natalie Robottom, Councilmember-at-Large, Jaclyn Hotard, District 4 Councilmember, Marvin Perrilloux, other Administrators, family and friends joined local owners Shawanda and Kendall Hawkins for the well-attended grand opening of 3LJ’s Café.  The new café located at 2917 Highway 51 in LaPlace, serves daily lunch specials, sandwiches, salads, their signature stuffed potatoes, and crawfish bisque which is offered every Friday. 

“Our first day of operation was March 2 and we have been busy ever since,” said Shawanda Hawkins.  Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins have strong family support and believe in working together to succeed.  “We are built on 4 P’s - Pray, Plan, Prepare, and Put into position,” said Kendall Hawkins.  “This is our way of beginning every day at 3LJ’s,” he added.  “The opening of 3LJ's is an excellent addition to St. John Parish – they have great food and a level of service unparalleled.  Ms. Hawkins and her amazing staff have done a remarkable job and I look forward to their continued success,” said Councilmember-at-Large, Division B, Jaclyn Hotard.

Visitors can enjoy their meal in this quant restaurant, order to-go, or receive delivery with a minimum of seven orders.  District 4 Councilman, Marvin Perrilloux who stopped in to introduce himself and to taste their dishes said, “The restaurant has a family appeal with great tasting food.  I enjoyed everything about it.” 

“As always, we wish the best of luck to Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins and support their efforts as local business owners.  My office is here to support you and we encourage our residents to try out the variety of menu items at 3LJ’s Café, said Parish President Natalie Robottom.   The café is open Monday through Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
