Parish President Natalie Robottom celebrates the grand opening of Pro Stylez Barber Shop with owner Kerry Watkins and his staff. On hand with Robottom for the ceremonial ribbon cutting were members of the Robottom Administration, the Chamber of Commerce, the L’Observateur and a host of barbers and customers. Following the ceremony, Watkins treated everyone to his special jambalaya and discussed the recent renovations and his trendy barber shop.
Pro Stylez Barber Shop has seven stylists offering a number of services including Mohawks, designs, facial and hair lining, and eyebrow trimming. Since opening in February, Pro Stylez has served customers of all ages. A female stylist specializing in braiding is available in the shop for females and males. “My staff is unique in their specialties and they are willing to do the best work possible to make each client satisfied with their style,” stated Watkins.
Owner, Kerry Watkins is a native of LaPlace who graduated from East St. John High School and attended Georgia Tech University on a football scholarship. When not in his shop, Watkins can be found on the football field where he continues his career as a wide receiver for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. “I applaud Kerry and his young staff on their hard work and drive. They cater to their customers by offering a variety of services and a versatile schedule. I wish him and his staff the best of luck,” said Parish President Natalie Robottom.
