Saturday night, Parish President Natalie Robottom was the featured server at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company in Laplace. The local restaurant is one of eight in Louisiana and its "Featured Server" program has been very helpful in raising money for non-profits. Robottom chose the St. John Theatre as a nonprofit organization to which a portion of sales and tips raised during her service would be donated. The event was open to the public and many residents attended to visit with Robottom and support the Theatre. Members of the Board of Directors for the Theatre were also on hand to serve and promote the arts. "This was a fun event and an opportunity for me to socialize with locals while supporting a local organization," said Robottom.
As a featured server, Robottom raised about $600 for St. John Theatre. This donation will go to their general fund for upkeep of the theatre which will enable them to continue to provide family entertainment and a place for local actors to display their talents.
New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood encourages other residents to participate as a featured server when available. All who are interested in participating can contact the LaPlace location General Manager, Owen Scott.
"Thank you to everyone who had dinner at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company Saturday night. Although times are tough, all of our local restaurants, businesses, and organizations need your support," said Robottom.
