President Hotard and Council Assessing Parish for Needs

Wednesday, February 5, 2020

St. John the Baptist Parish - Parish President Hotard and Administrative staff began conducting district/division assessments recently, starting in Division A with Council Chairman Lennix Madere.

The assessments, which will cover each district before completion, is a hand’s-on approach taken by President Hotard and staff to swiftly identify issues that need resolving including blight, broken roads, water leaks, damaged infrastructure and more.

“It was my commitment to work very closely with Council Members so that together we can serve the needs of the residents,” said Hotard. “This assessment marked the first of many on-the-ground assessments that will take place. “

After the assessment, a list of priority items with timelines for action and follow up was created.  “Teaming up, we were able to cover a large area in a short amount of time and see firsthand what the problems were, including drainage,” said Chairman Madere.  “This is a huge step and I look forward to continuing to work with Administration to address the needs of the residents.”

Residents can also submit work orders in their areas via the Parish website online work order system, at http://st-john-parish.com/?id=231.
