St. John the Baptist Parish – An Open Primary Congressional Election will take place this Tuesday, November 6, 2018 and voters will decide whether or not to renew an existing millage that funds mosquito services in St. John Parish. THIS MILLAGE IS NOT A NEW TAX NOR A TAX INCREASE.
“Renewing this existing millage will not increase your taxes. Funds generated through this millage are used for spraying, testing and education programs to control the mosquitos in our Parish,” said Parish President Natalie Robottom. “Louisiana has the highest number of West Nile infections in the nation and this millage is important to the the safety of our community. Please vote on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.”
Election Day voting will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at each polling location. Voters are asked to provide photo identification. Voters who vote at Precinct 2-3 should be reminded that the polling location was moved from the Parish Health Unit back to St. Peter Catholic School at 188 W. 7th St. in Reserve.
