St. John the Baptist Parish - Parish President Natalie Robottom, her Administrative staff, Assessor Lucien Gauff and Sheriff Mike Tregre, joined Dr. Ashwin Jaikishen, Dr. Jill Lindberg, Councilman Michael Wright and staff of Fresenius Kidney Care for a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome the new center to St. John Parish. The center is located at 704 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace and is the first in St. John.
At Fresenius Kidney Care, the mission is to "passionately" help those with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end stage renal disease (ESRD) to lead fuller, more active and vibrant lives. Based on information provided, Fresenius is the world's the largest provider of dialysis products and services, and help nearly 200,000 people improve their lives every day around the country.
The dialysis center also provides educational support for people living with CKD, including the "KidneyCare:365" class. This free program helps those affected learn about kidney health, eating well, thriving with CKD, and treatment choices.
"Our goal at Fresenius Kidney Care-LaPlace is to deliver superior care that improves the quality of life of every patient, every day, setting the standard by which others in the healthcare industry are judged," said Renada Taylor, BSN, RN. "Our patients currently receive treatment every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and appreciate the relaxing environment that is set within the clinic. We are able to provide a personal touch with each patient due to our smaller scale clinic. With home therapies and in-center hemodialysis in one building, we are honored and ready to serve the community of St. John the Baptist Parish."
