St. John the Baptist Parish - President Robottom introduced her new appointment for Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mr. Robert Figuero, Jr. at Tuesday’s Council Meeting. Mr. Figuero has over ten years of experience in the Finance field and previously worked as a CFO with responsibilities including budget controls, implementation of software, and staff development. He has extensive knowledge of budget and project Management, profit optimization, and revenue development and implementation.
Mr. Robert Figuero, Jr. is a former United States Marine with an extensive background as a Chief Financial Officer. He is an expert in Budget, Project, and Vender Relationship Management, Revenue Optimization, and Policy Development and Implementation.
He is a former United Stated Marine and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Information Technology with a minor in Website Development from Tulane University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. “As a resident of St. John and with a background as a CFO, I feel that he will bring a wealth of knowledge to the finance department that will greatly benefit the residents and business owners of our Parish,” said Parish President Robottom. Figuero replaces Ross Gonzales who recently took another job closer to home.
In other news, President Robottom received authorization to move forward with a contract for engineering services for Phase II of the Parish Generator Project. The $80, 519 agreement, funded through a GOHSEP grant and the 2009 bond issue, is for design, project management, and inspection services for permanent emergency generators at 3 Parish lift stations (Belle Terre at Fairway, Lakewood Drive and Ned Duhe at Capt G. Bourgeois). During Phase I, generators were installed at the LaPlace Park and Belle Grove Pumping Stations, Percy Hebert Lift Station and Wastewater plants in Garyville and on the West Bank at Central Avenue, Tigerville and in Wallace.
The Council also approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Teche Action Clinic for health care services through 2022. Since its inception over ten years ago, the clinic aims to provide safe and quality health care to the general public especially the uninsured and low-income residents. The clinics are located in Reserve and Edgard.
