UPDATE: St. John the Baptist Parish -  The Dog Park Dedication Ceremony orginally scheduled for June 3rd has been rescheduled for June 24th due to potential inclimate weather on Saturday.

St. John the Baptist Parish officials invite the public to join them for a Dog Park Dedication Ceremony, in memory of Julia Caroline Luna, “FROGGY”,  on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm.

The Dog Park is located at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park, 2900 Highway 51 in LaPlace behind the Library.

Julia Luna, was an 11 year old girl who devoted her life volunteering with a goal of getting shelter animals adopted one at a time until there were none. The local adoption group, “Froggy’s Mission” was started in memory of her.

Volunteers will also be holding Pet Adoptions on site from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Dogs and Kittens will be available.  Jambalaya will also be sold with all proceeds benefiting Froggy’s Mission.

The dog park features two enclosed areas for unleashing small and large dogs. Dog pick-up bags, separate trash receptacles and benches are also available for dog park attendees.
