Andouille Pageant Contestants Needed

St. John the Baptist Parish - St. John the Baptist Parish is seeking contestants for the 2016 Miss and Teen Andouille Queen Pageant. The Pageant is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John Theatre, 115 West 4th St. in Reserve. This year's theme is "Andouille Heads West… The Wild, Wild, West.”

To be eligible for participation, contestants must be single with no children, a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish and between the ages of 13 and 16 for the Teen Division and 17 and 23 for the Miss Division, on the date of the pageant. The competition for each division consists of an interview and on-stage promenade. The Miss Division will include an on-stage question during the evening gown portion.

The deadline to register for the Miss and Teen Andouille Queen Pageant is Friday, September 23, 2016. To enter, please download an application at or visit the St. John the Baptist Parish Office at 1801 W. Airline Hwy in LaPlace.  Applications can be mailed or delivered to Terri Abadie at 1801 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, LA 70068 before the deadline.

Throughout the year, the Andouille Queens will travel to many fairs and festivals representing Louisiana’s rich culture and promoting the St. John the Baptist Parish Andouille Festival. The 2016 queens will reign over the 2016 Andouille Festival as well as participate in various parish and community events as Ambassadors for St. John the Baptist Parish.

Queens will also visit with their U. S. Representatives and Senators, the Governor of Louisiana, and many elected officials and representatives of Louisiana.  The Miss Queen will compete in the Louisiana Queen of Queens Pageant held in February of each year.

The Baby through Junior Miss Andouille Pageant will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the St. John Theatre. Contestants ages 6 months to 12-years-old are needed. Applications will be accepted up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time for each pageant category on October 2.
