St. John the Baptist Parish - On Monday, September 19, 2016, Parish President Natalie Robottom's Administrative staff, Council Chairman Marvin Perrilloux, Small Business Advisor Eliza Eugene, Sheriff Mike Tregre and Representatives from the River Region Chamber of Commerce joined owner Chris Cancienne, wife Aimee, and family and friends for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Cypress Physical Therapy, LLC. The new clinic is located at 607 Belle Terre Blvd, Suite B, in LaPlace.
Cypress Physical Therapy is a locally-owned and operated physical therapy clinic offering outpatient physical therapy services and other services including manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, post-surgical rehab, and sports performance rehab and work conditioning. Clinic staff includes owner and Doctor of Physical Therapy Chris Cancienne and office manager Rebecca Specht. Economic Development Director Jerry Jones, expressed his support at the ribbon cutting and thanked Cancienne for choosing to open his business in the Parish. "It is an exciting day for you, for your family and for all of us in St. John," Jones said. "We ask that moving forward if there is anything we can do for you or if you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to call." Council Chairman Marvin Perrilloux added, "The facility is first class and on behalf of the Council, we wish you much success."
Cancienne obtained his doctorate degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center of New Orleans in 2011 and his bachelor's degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2007. His post graduate certifications include Functional Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage, and Functional Capacity Evaluations and is trained in other various manual therapy techniques. Since obtaining his doctorate degree, Cancienne has been serving patients of the River Region in the outpatient setting as well as in the home. He has treated local high school, college, and professional athletes and in a wide range of sports.
Cancienne' s passion for teaching the community as a whole how to better take care of their bodies and best recovery from injury led him to open his own state-of-the-art facility and dream clinic in LaPlace. "I look forward to assisting patients on the road to recovery from an injury or surgery related condition," Cancienne said. "As a lifelong resident of the River Region, the health of our community is important to me and I know patients will feel the difference when they leave."
