St. John to Host Hurricane Preparedness Public Meeting

St. John the Baptist Parish – St. John the Baptist Parish is hosting a free Hurricane Preparedness Public Meeting for residents and businesses on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. to refine their plans for the 2016 Hurricane Season. The meeting will be held at REGALA Gymnasium, 200 Regala Park Rd. in Reserve.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director James Waskom, Chief Meteorologist Ken Graham with the National Weather Service and an Entergy Representative will present information to attendees on the upcoming tropical season. Parish officials will also inform attendees of local preparedness information and be on hand to answer any questions that may arise.  

“The Parish has put together an educational meeting with information that can be extremely valuable in a weather emergency,” said St. John Communications Director Baileigh Helm. “Our Parish and region have faced multiple severe weather events already this year which shows how important it is to be prepared now.”
