St. John the Baptist Parish – Parish President Natalie Robottom, her administrative staff and Councilman Larry Sorapuru attended a ribbon cutting ceremony recently to commemorate the grand opening of Stewart’s School of Performing Arts. The new studio is located at 538 E. Airline Hwy, LaPlace.
Owned and operated by Rachel Stewart, the performing arts school offers co-ed instruction in hip-hop, ballet, lyrical, jazz, musical theatre, aerobics and Zumba. Mental health and healing/wellness classes will also be offered in the upcoming months.
Studio hours are Monday through Saturdays, 9 am – 8 p.m. “At Stewart’s School of Performing Arts, we strive to not only teach our students techniques to better their craft, we also work on their physical, mental and spiritual character to success in life and be the best,” Stewart said. Stewart has more than 20 years of experience in performing arts and dance.
