St. John the Baptist Parish – Parish President Natalie Robottom is pleased to announce new additions to her administrative team.
Chief Financial Officer – Ross Gonzales
Mr. Gonzales is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 34 years of experience in accounting and finance.
Prior to joining St. John Parish, Gonzales served as Coordinator of Housing & Development and Finance Director for St. Bernard Parish. Through his work, he has gained organizational, management, and supervisory skills, knowledge of governmental programs and practices, and familiarization with governmental funding such as grants, bonds, and loans. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants.
Gonzales replaces Vince Lucia who served in the same capacity and was employed for the Parish for more than 25 years and recently retired to spend more time with his family. “I appreciate Mr. Lucia’s service to St. John the Baptist Parish, and wish him the best in his retirement,” said President Robottom. “He set a very high bar in the Finance Department and we look forward to maintaining that level of service.”
Director of Purchasing and Procurement – Jean Stewart
Ms. Jean Stewart has more than 30 years of experience in Procurement and Finance at Shell Oil Company. During her time with Shell Oil, she negotiated contracts, scheduled, planned, and prepared bids, and managed the procurement of goods and services. She also provided customer support to all departments and resolved and recommended solutions to daily issues.
Ms. Stewart has received various awards throughout her career such as Supplier Diversity Coordinator of the Year and Supplier Diversity Buyer of the Year and was nominated for three “Champion of Excellence” Awards. She holds a degree in Business Administration from Nicholls State University.
Director of Economic Development – Jerry W. Jones
Jerry Jones is with the Chief Executive Officer for the Lake Charles North Redevelopment Authority (LCNRA) and the Interim Executive Director for the Imperial Calcasieu Regional Planning and Development Commission (IMCAL). In these capacities, he collaborates with various economic development organizations and entities on advancing small business and community development. He assists property and business owners with development and business opportunities, and provides professional services for regional comprehensive economic development strategies.
He holds an Authentic Leadership Certification from Harvard University and True South Economic Development Certification from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Jones has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Southern University and A&M College.
