ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – Parish President Natalie Robottom joined representatives from the River Region Chamber of Commerce in celebrating the grand opening of Corner Store located at 647 Belle Terre Blvd in LaPlace. Headquartered in San Antonio, the LaPlace location is the first store to be constructed in Louisiana within the last 15 years, and two others are currently underway in Prairieville and Hammond. Also on hand for the celebration were United Way Executive Director John Olynick, East St. John High School Band, Mr. and Mrs. Whoopie Pie, and a host of Corner Store staff members welcoming guests as they arrived.
Following a welcome from Corner Store’s Retail Vice President, Pete Linton, LaPlace store manager Demetria Joseph, Kim Bourgeois of the River Region Chamber of Commerce and Louisiana Federal Credit Union and Parish President Natalie Robottom welcomed the staff to the area. East St. John Band played a drum roll for the ribbon cutting ceremony and were presented with a $2500 donation from the franchise.
Corner Store has hired approximately 15 employees at the Belle Terre location to manage the gas station and convenient store. Corner Store prides itself in their mission, “Win every customer, every day through fast, friendly service in a safe and clean environment. Not only do we know that it is about our PEOPLE, but our customers do too!” while also offering their own signature brands, Fresh Choices, U Force, and Cibolo Mountain Coffee.
The store offers fresh, hot breakfast and lunch sandwiches that make for a quick in-and-out experience for snacks, meals, and a variety of refreshments.
