Early Voting Begins October 10th

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – With over 600 candidates running for office statewide, residents are encouraged to get engaged with the October 24th Gubernatorial Primary Election.  Early voting for the October 24th Election begins Saturday, October 10th and continues through Saturday, October 17th (excluding Sunday). 

St. John the Baptist Parish residents can vote early at the Percy Hebert Building in LaPlace and the Parish Courthouse in Edgard. Early voting hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  To view an election ballot, visit the Louisiana Secretary of State’s website.

On Election Day, polling sites throughout the parish will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters are asked to provide photo identification. Residents can obtain a free Louisiana Special ID at the Office of Motor Vehicles by showing their voters registration information card.  Campaign paraphernalia and clothing is not allowed at the polls or during early voting.  A list of polling locations in St. John the Baptist Parish can be found on the Louisiana Secretary of State’s website or by calling the St. John Parish Registrar of Voters Office.
