Boil Water Advisory in Place for Reserve, Garyville, & Mount Airy
Tuesday, September 22, 2015 – 8:00 a.m.
ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – The St. John Parish Utilities Department and Sealevel Construction, Inc worked through the night to make the necessary repairs to a main water line in Water District #1 (Reserve, Garyville, Mt. Airy). Water has been restored to the area, but as a precaution, water customers in this area are currently under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.
It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation by boiling water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.
The Utilities Department will lift the Boil Water Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals-Office of Public Health that the water samples collected from Water District #1 is safe.
