As part of the $32 million grant funding received through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) as a result of Hurricane Isaac, $3,862,306 has been allocated to the Hurricane Isaac Grant and Loan Program for small businesses and non-profit organizations located in St. John the Baptist Parish. The program will provide financial assistance in the form of a grant and low interest loan to St. John the Baptist small businesses that were in existence before August 29, 2012, suffered damage from the effects of the storm, and can verify that the business is open or can re-open.
Small Businesses interested in submitting an application for the program are encouraged to attend one of the Town Hall Meetings listed below to receive information on the program, eligibility, requirements, and the type of assistance available. Awards will be available as a 20% grant and 80% low interest loan to affected small businesses, and amounts will range from $10,000 to $100,000 based on the availability of funds.
Applications for the Hurricane Isaac Grant and Loan Program will be accepted beginning Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
