ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – Parish officials and the Keep St. John Beautiful Committee are registering volunteers for the annual Fall Clean Sweep event to be held Saturday, September 19, 2015.

Clean Sweep is a parish wide clean-up day involving hundreds of volunteers from schools, government agencies, churches, civic organizations, home-owner associations and industry.  The fall event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park with distribution of garbage bags, gloves, trash clamps and t-shirts.

The Clean Sweep Committee targets major thoroughfares for cleaning, but volunteers are encouraged to clean areas around their homes and businesses. In appreciation of the volunteers and their commitment to keeping St. John beautiful, free food and refreshments will also be provided following the clean-up activities.

Groups and individuals interested in participating are asked to sign up in advance at or contact Dana Milioto at 985-652-9569 to reserve specific neighborhoods or public areas.  Supplies can be picked up in advance on Friday, September 18 at the Percy Hebert Building from 10:00 a.m. to noon or on Saturday, September 19 at the park.

Register for the 37th Annual Andouille Run on Sunday, October 18 starting at 8:00 a.m. at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park in LaPlace to continue the fight against litter. Proceeds from the 5 mile run and 2 mile run/walk will benefit the "Keep St. John Beautiful" campaign. Download a registration form at
