ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH- The 42nd Annual St. John the Baptist Parish Andouille Festival will be held Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18, 2015 featuring music, good times and great food. Parish Officials and the Economic Development Department are pleased to announce exciting entertainment for all music fans during the festival weekend.
This year’s music lineup will include a Friday night concert featuring the Topcats, Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr & the Zydeco Twisters and Phunky Monkeys.
On Saturday, country-rock power vocalist Kayla Woodson is set to kick off the main stage at 11:00 a.m. and alternative rock group The Vettes will follow. At 2:00 p.m., the notorious New Birth Brass Band will lead the 2nd Annual Second-Line Parade on festival grounds, which festival goers are invited to participate in, prior to their performance at 2:30 p.m. At 4:30 Dee-1 takes the stage. Local favorites Off the Hook, IMAGE and MoJEAUX will rock the main stage that evening.
On Sunday, “Andouille Run” participants will be treated to music from the Changing Times Band and later that day Amanda Shaw & The Cute Guys, Category 6 and Big Sam’s Funky Nation are scheduled to perform. The New Orleans based super pop quartet Bag of Donuts will close out the festival on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the main stage, attendees are encouraged to visit the Gospel tent for Gospel music on Sunday. More information will be posted when the Gospel schedule is finalized.
