Momma Jo's Family Creole and Cajun Kitchen Opens in LaPlace

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH - Parish President Natalie Robottom, Administrative staff, Council member Larry Snyder and Economic Development Committee Member Peggy Joseph recently joined Momma Jo and restaurant staff for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of Momma Jo's Family Creole and Cajun Kitchen. The new restaurant is located at 2917 Hwy 51 in LaPlace.

Momma Jo’s is a locally owned and operated restaurant offering breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday. Momma Jo’s staff includes four employees who serve up creole style soul food and offer tech savvy text message receipts for customer convenience. Breakfast begins at 5:00 a.m. and menu items consist of breakfast platters and sandwiches. Lunch and dinner menu options include salads, sandwiches, po-boys, meat pies, platters, soups, and a daily special featuring a home-cooked meal ending at 8:00 p.m. “It's exciting to have Momma Jo's Restaurant open on Hwy 51...not only for fine down home food it prepares but because she is another local entrepreneur investing in St. John Parish,” said Councilman Snyder. “I would like to wish them much success.”

Owned by Jameca Bolden and operated by her family, Momma Jo serves as the Chef and has more than seventeen years of experience in the food service industry. She also participates in local events and serves as a vendor for the St. John Parish Andouille Festival. “My first encounter with Momma Jo’s was as a customer during the 2014 Andouille Festival. Momma Jo’s was a first-year food vendor and her dishes were so savory and delicious that I asked her had she ever considered opening a restaurant in St. John the Baptist Parish,” said Torri Buckles, St. John Parish Economic Development Director. “Now everyone will have an opportunity to taste the Cajun and Creole delicacies that so many of us had an opportunity to enjoy during the Andouille Festival.”

Momma Jo's Family Creole and Cajun Kitchen is open Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. - 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 6 pm. For more information, contact Momma Jo’s at 985-224-2666.
