ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH - The Canadian National (CN) Railroad will be performing preventative maintenance to railroad crossings throughout the Parish beginning tomorrow June 30, 2015. As a result, closures will be implemented at the CN railroad crossings on Hwy 44 near the DuPont Curve, Hwy 3217, Hwy 3179 and Spruce St., on the dates listed below, weather permitting.
Detour signs will be placed in appropriate places to notify motorists of closures in advance. All residents will have access to their homes during construction but are asked to use caution and lookout for work crews and their equipment. Emergency responders have been advised of the railroad work and have developed alternate routes for emergency response.
CN RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURES:
• June 30 - July 1 - Hwy 44 (West 5th St.), LaPlace
• July 2 - July 3 - Hwy 3217 (Bayou Steel Rd.), LaPlace
• July 8 - 9 - Hwy 3179 (E 22nd), Reserve
• July 9 -10- Spruce St., LaPlace
