River Region Chamber of Commerce Relocates to New Office in LaPlace

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

St. John the Baptist Parish – St. John Parish President Natalie Robottom, St. John Parish Administration, St. John Parish Council and Sheriff Michael Tregre joined River Region Chamber of Commerce (RRCC) Executive Director Chassity McComack and Chairman Nathan Stein for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new location of the River Region Chamber of Commerce office. RRCC board members and former Chairman Mike Palamone, Southeast LA Port Director Paul Aucoin and CAO Dale Hymel, Senator Vitter’s Office, Senator Cassidy’s Office, Representative Garrett Graves’ Office, and other community and elected officials were also in attendance at the new location, 390 Belle Terre Blvd, LaPlace.

Serving as the voice of River Parish businesses, the River Region Chamber provides members with business resources, access to governmental/economic agencies, networking opportunities, service committees and other community information. Through membership, businesses of all sizes and multitudes located in St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and St. James Parishes receive tools and support that help enhance their respective markets to further business growth and also receive unique networking opportunities.

The new 2800 square-foot facility essentially leaves room for growth - evident through its expansive office suite, kitchen area, business resource center, multi-media training room, conference room and meeting rooms.  Upon approaching its 11th anniversary, Chamber officials credit the new office as a sign of progression and also one that serves as a centralized location between the three River Parishes.

Executive Director Chassity McComack thanked the business community, Parish and other officials for their perseverance and loyalty at the ribbon cutting.  “Our new office is something to be proud of and will help to further grow, strengthen and unify the businesses in the River Region for many years to come,” she said. “We have a permanent home now,” added Chairman Nathan Stein. Guests were treated to refreshments, pastalaya donated by Atmos Energy, facility tours, and goodie bags immediately following. Dow Chemical donated $50,000 to the Chamber’s efforts.

In 2012, the RRCC was named the “Mid-Size Chamber of the Year” by the United States Chamber of Commerce. “The River Region Chamber is an integral partner in our economic development efforts and an important voice in our community. It is a shining example of success through partnership and collaboration,” said Parish President Natalie Robottom. “On behalf of St. John Parish officials, I congratulate the Chamber and its leadership staff on this important milestone and we look forward to continuing to work together in the future.”
