Council Reminds Residents of Garbage Can Ordinance

Thursday, October 9, 2014

Residents are reminded of Ordinance 12-32 which was passed by the Parish Council to address the period of time garbage cans are allowed to remain by the roadway. Per the ordinance, “garbage cans or containers may not be placed at the street sooner than 12:00 noon on the day before the scheduled collection day, and must be removed from the street by 12:00 noon on the day following collection.”

All garbage to be collected must be placed in cans adjacent to the property line abutting the street. All rubbish such as yard clippings and bulky items must be placed at the curb in suitable containers.
