The MUNICODE system is user friendly and is updated as changes are approved by the Council
ST. JOHN – St. John the Baptist Parish Council recently approved a motion to adopt the changes made to the Code of Ordinances. The Planning and Zoning department worked in collaboration with the Municipal Code Corporation, government agencies and parish departments to recodify the codes. The existing ordinances were reviewed to make certain that conflicting areas of the code were revised to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
"We are pleased with the new system and hope our citizens find it much easier to access and review the laws that govern our parish", said Mike Henderson, Director of Planning and Zoning.
The original code was adopted in 1982 when the Home Rule Charter began and is revised as applicable by the Parish administration and Council. The new code will be updated regularly as ordinances are adopted, amended, or removed by the Council.
Detailed information regarding the revised code of ordinances can be accessed on the parish's website at www.sjbparish.com.
