As a result of increased water usage during the freeze precautions, some residents are experiencing reduced water pressure. Residents must minimize the use of large quantities of water and begin conserving water until further notice.
To prevent pipes from freezing, residents should run a very slow drip on the faucet farthest from where water enters the house. This will allow water to continue to flow and reduce the chance of pipes freezing.
Cabinet doors leading to exposed pipes should be kept open to allow household air to keep them warm. The Utilities Department is taking precautionary steps and implementing back-up measures to address the issue, but residents may experience decreased water pressure until the situation improves.
