ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – Due to a series of cold fronts moving through the region beginning today, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact the area through Tuesday morning. Although severe weather is not expected, a few strong thunderstorms and dense fog are possible. Temperatures are anticipated to fall rapidly behind the front.
The National Weather Service has predicted that the thunderstorms will likely produce rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts. Residents are asked to assist in cleaning out catch basins and storm drains that may be filled or blocked prior to this weather event. Please avoid placing debris in ditches, drainage canals, and on the side of the road that may impede drainage or become projectiles. Residents should report any issues or concerns during the rain event to 9-1-1.
