ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH– The St. John the Baptist Parish Miss and Teen Andouille Pageant originally scheduled for October 5 has been rescheduled for this Saturday, October 12, 2013 due to the threat of Tropical Storm Karen. The pageant will take place at St. John Theatre, located at 115 West 4th St. in Reserve at 7:00 p.m.
The 2012 queens, Ms. Madaline King and Ms. Heather Roussel will relinquish their titles to two young women that will represent the parish for one year at festivals and events across the state. Miss Andouille will also represent the parish in the Queen of Queens pageant held in Baton Rouge in early 2014 and attend the Mystic Krewe of Louisianans Mardi Gras Ball in Washington D.C.
On Sunday, October 20, the Baby through Junior Miss Andouille Pageants will be held at the St. John Community Center, 2900 Hwy 51 in LaPlace. The first pageant will start promptly at noon. The pageants are open to girls, ages 6 months to 12 years old and boys, ages 6 months to 3 years old. To register for the Baby through Junior Miss Andouille Pageants please download an application at andouillefestival.com and return the completed form and fees to Dana Milioto at 1801 W. Airline Hwy in LaPlace by Monday, October 14, 2013. Applications can be submitted the day of the pageant until one half hour before competition time for an additional $5.00 late entry fee.
