ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH– The Canadian National (CN) Railroad will begin improvements to railroad crossings in Garyville on Monday, September 23. The work is expected to last through October 2, 2013. As a result, closures will be implemented on Museum St., and the railroad crossings at Historic Main St., N. Church St., and N. Little Hope St. on the dates listed below, weather permitting.
Detour signs will be placed in appropriate places to notify motorists of closures in advance. All residents will have access to their homes during construction but are asked to use caution and lookoutfor work crews and their equipment. All fire departments and emergency personnel have been advised of the railroad work and each has developed alternate routes for emergency response.
· September 23–24 - Museum St. – no through traffic at intersection of Historic Main St.
· September 25–26 – N. Little Hope St – CN Railroad crossing closed
· September 27-30 – N. Church St – CN Railroad crossing closed
· October 1–2 – Historic Main St – CN Railroad crossing closed
The CN Railroad will complete additional road and drainage repairs between N. Church St.and N. Little Hope St. in November. More information about these improvements will be released as it becomes available.
