The Parish Council approved a contract with Blackboard Connect, Inc. for a mass notification system in the amount of $27,262.00. The system also distributes automatic notifications from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for severe weather alerts through the same methods referenced previously. “In the event of an emergency, it is critical that residents are notified of threats as quickly as possible. This system provides several options for communicating information timely and can also be used for non-emergencies,” said Parish President Natalie Robottom. The system will also be utilized to improve ccommunications with groups of employees and other governmental entities, both internally and externally.
