Friday, March 22, 2013

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH – Beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing through Saturday evening, isolated showers and thunderstorms including a slight risk of severe weather is expected to impact the area as a fast-moving system travels through Southeastern Louisiana. Although the main threat will be large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornados and brief heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out. As a safety precaution, residents should use caution when venturing outdoors.

Public Works and Utilities crews will be on hand in the event issues arise with drainage and utility systems. In an effort to prepare for this rain event, residents are also encouraged to assist in cleaning up catch basins and drainage systems in the neighborhoods.  Residents are asked to call the 9-1-1 Emergency Center to report any issues or concerns during the weather event.
