Keeping St. John the Baptist Parish beautiful is the responsibility of every citizen.  Our code enforcement office is dedicated to providing fair and equal enforcement of Parish codes to ensure the overall health, safety, and welfare of our community.  Our goal is to educate residents and business owners on the Parish’s codes regarding property maintenance, zoning, and land use in order for them to effectively care for and regulate their own property.
Please help us by preventing, identifying, and reporting code violations.  For more information or to report a suspected code violation, call (985) 359-1185 or file a complaint here.
Code Enforcement inspectors conduct investigations of properties to determine whether a code violation exists.  If a violation is confirmed, the property owner will be notified in writing requesting that the property be brought into compliance within a specified time frame.  If the property owner does not comply, the Parish shall have the work performed at the property owner’s expense.  The property owner will be billed for the work performed and a lien placed against the property if the costs are not satisfied.
